It starts with the spec sheet. Our customer chose a set of high-end specs including 12-core Ryzen 3900XT CPU, Strix B550 motherboard and ROG Strix RTX 2080 Super. With a few more recommendations, we rounded out a well-balanced high-end build for his gaming and simulator requirements.
In accordance with the requested colour scheme, we set about designing a smooth matte black themed build. The palette is completed with 64GB of black Ripjaws V RAM and black AIO liquid cooling, all housed with the black NZXT H510 case. Some RGB is present, all software controllable, and can certainly be activated to provide a little bit of theming when desired; otherwise the RGB stays off and out of the way.
Power and performance are ensured through design and realised in our testing. Part of reason for recommending the Strix B550-E is the VRM’s massive 16 power stage design, certainly capable of feeding an overclocked Ryzen 3900XT. For system memory, we settled on XMP 3200MHz as a tradeoff for running 4 DIMMs. The 750W 80+ Gold power supply delivers plenty of current for the onboard components.
And the results show it! Netting a 3DMark Time Spy score of 11822!
